The University of Iowa Paleontology Repository is constantly adding new research material to its collections, including published and unpublished research specimens, images, and collection archive material (field notebooks, collection-related correspondence).

Acquisition of new material follows the Acquisitions Policy and Scope of Collections. New acquisitions must be properly documented and accompanied by original or copies of field notes, where applicable. Curated material is welcomed! Transfer of bulk research material, e.g., from retiring professionals may require advance notice for securing funding.

Assigned numbers for publications. Please contact the Collections Manager to confirm acceptance of proposed donation and have specimen numbers assigned prior to publication. Specimens and associated information and archive material must be sent to the Paleontology Repository promptly upon final manuscript acceptance. Curation of material prior to donation is welcomed and often finds errors in the manuscript.

Thank you!

Your support helps to make our collection an enriching and ever-evolving resource for university students, global researchers, and the entire paleontology community. We are grateful for your interest, involvement, and generosity.
